THE SPA CONNECTION Spa City Bop and Swing Dance Club MARCH/APRIL 2010 DANCE CLUB LABOR IS A LABOR OF LOVE THE WAGES OF A VOLUNTEER ARE PAID IN JOY, FRIENDSHIP & ACCOMPLISHMENT. Hello Spa City Dancers, Hang on, Spring is just around the corner. I think, by the number in attendance for our Country/Western Dance & Chili Supper, we were ready to get out of the house and dance off that ‘cabin fever’ brought on by our recent snowy and icy weather. What a great party it was, and wow, our cooks just keep getting better and better, right?? A big ‘thank you’ to all who provided the chili, there was variety in each crock pot, and each delicious in its’ own way. I heard rumors that we should have this type of dinner/dance more than once a year, so watch the web for upcoming events. You surely don’t want to miss another delicious dinner. To avoid cost of printing and mailing our newsletter, please note that all club news is posted on our web site www.spacitydanceclub.com. We will also have copies on the admissions desk at each of our dances. Please post the monthly calendar in a place in your home where you will often be reminded of our dance nights and special events. And as always you may call any of our board members with questions or concerns you may have, regarding any of the dances. We always welcome new or different ideas to help our club grow and prosper. These can be purchased at the desk at our Friday night dances. Things to Remember: "Spa City Bop and Swing Dance Club Members" Ask someone new to dance, especially visitors and new members. Count to 20 before "cutting in" during the Jam Session Be considerate of other dancers around you, realizing where you are on the dance floor and watching for other dancers close to you. Leave the perimeter of the dance floor for traveling dancers. Ladies...ask those guys to dance! Renew your membership on time. Volunteer to help! And above all else...HAVE FUN!!! DANCE SCHEDULE! COME DANCE WITH US! Spa City Bop and Swing Dance Club dances are held the 2nd & 4th Friday of each month and anytime we have a 5th Friday in the month. DANCE LESSONS each night at 6:15 before our regular dance at 7:00 Place: VFW Club on 70E Time: 7:00 p.m. Thank you Instructors for helping our dancers achieve their best in dancing! BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING is held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at the Whistle Stop at 6:00P.M. Don’t’ forget to check our web site under the News Flash tab for updates on dances, events, times & places at spacitydanceclub.com Bake Sale We discovered that we have some wonderful cooks in our club, and we all like homemade goodies, so we decided to have a Bake Sale. It will be held at our dance on March 26th. Mark this date on your calendar and get out your favorite recipe to bake. Please call Pat Smith, our Activities Director at 609-9645 or e-mail her at psmith57@att.net to let her know what you will be bringing to sell. Of course, we will need buyers too, so bring extra money on this night so you will be able to purchase a wonderful dessert to take home. Membership Cards If you have recently joined our club or renewed your membership and did not receive your membership card, you can pick them up at our Admissions Desk at any of our dances. We no longer mail Membership Cards. DON'T FORGET TO RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP! Membership dues are important to your Club. They help cover the cost of newsletters, DJ, web site, special dance events, extra club events & more!
